Happy Anniversary to the Newsletter!
Takeaways from a year of writing every week
As I was looking back at some previous newsletter entries this week, I realized that my first newsletter came out on March 11, 2024, so I have been been consistent in putting out an entry every Monday for a whole year! One year ago, I set out on a journey to share insights, reflections, and lessons each week, not knowing exactly where it would lead. What started as a way to connect and inform has grown into something even more meaningful—an opportunity to engage with a community of coaches, leaders, and lifelong learners who are committed to growth.
As I celebrate the one-year anniversary of this newsletter, I want to take a moment to say thank you. Your support, feedback, and encouragement have made this journey more rewarding than I ever imagined. To know that almost 100 people are interested enough to take a few minutes to read my thoughts every Monday. Writing every week has been a challenge, but it has also been a gift—one that has taught me some valuable lessons along the way. Here is what I have picked up from writing on a consistent basis:
Consistency Builds Momentum – Showing up every week, no matter what, has reinforced the power of discipline and building positive habits. Progress isn’t about waiting for the perfect inspiration; it’s about committing to the process.
The Power of Reflection – Writing forces clarity. It has deepened my own learning and helped me process experiences in ways I wouldn’t have otherwise. This has been helped by those of you who have reached out with your own reflections and questions about the topics. Speaking of connecting with readers…
Connection Matters – The conversations sparked by this newsletter—whether through replies, shared stories, or words of encouragement—have reinforced that leadership and coaching are about people first.
Small Impacts Add Up – Some weeks, I wondered if my words were making a difference. Then I’d get a message from someone saying an idea resonated with them. Writing has reinforced that even small moments of inspiration can create positive ripple effects.
Done Is Better Than Perfect – Some weeks, the words flowed easily; other weeks, I struggled to find the right message. But I’ve learned that showing up and delivering consistently matters more than chasing perfection. This is hard for me as I like to have things done right but have hopefully learned that perfection is no always needed!
There’s Always More to Learn – Even after a year of exploring topics like leadership, mindset, and resilience, I’ve realized that growth is a never-ending journey. Writing has helped push my desire to keep learning and sharing.
This newsletter wouldn’t be what it is without you. Whether you’ve read every edition or just recently joined, I appreciate you being part of this journey. Writing each week has been both a challenge and a privilege, and I look forward to another year of sharing, learning, and growing together.
As I reflect on this milestone, I’d love to hear from you—what topics have resonated most? What lessons have stuck with you? I hope we can keep the conversation since as long as there are interested readers, I will keep the newsletter going! Thank you for being part of this journey and onward and upward! Have a great week!
